Educational Classes
Generation Bridges
This is a popular conversation group of students from Westborough High School and Seniors who meet together for an hour to “just talk” to each other. No electronics, just regular conversation about your world and theirs. Join us Wednesdays at 2:45 pm. The students are looking forward to meeting and talking with you.
There is no sign up or cost.
Spanish
Carmen Lara-Repetto is teaching a conversational Spanish class on Mondays at 10:30 am.
New and returning students are welcome. These classes are taught in a ten-week session and cost $40, or $5 per class if you prefer.
Call the Senior Center for additional information and to sign up. Payment for the ten-week price is due prior to classes starting.
English as a Second Language
Carmen Lara-Repetto is also offering an ESL class for those Seniors whose first language is not English and would like to improve their English speaking and understanding.
The classes will be held at the Senior Center on Thursday afternoons at 1 pm.
Pre-registration is required.
Classical Music Appreciation
Robert Oaken offers his Classical Music listening series on three Tuesdays each month. Check the calendar for specific days. The program will run about 2 hours. Each week you will experience a different composer, with music, stories and, sometimes, film. There is no charge but please call to register.
Piano
Piano classes are held on Wednesday afternoons at 2 pm and Dennis Deyo is the instructor. These are open, group classes so you can come in and begin at any time.
Each student receives group and individualized instruction to help play their own music. You will be responsible for paying for your instruction book and each class is $5.
If you are interested in learning to play, please call the Senior Center for information.
Lunch & Learn
Beginning Spring, 2023, Lunch and Learn will be offered once a month, thanks to the generosity of the DoubleTree Hotel. Speakers will present timely information on health-related issues, safety concerns, current events, and others. There is no charge to attend but you must have a reservation. Check the calendar for specific schedule.
Breakfast with the Chief
A monthly Breakfast with the Westborough Police Chief is served on the third Tuesday morning of each month at 8:30 am. The Chief brings local town department heads, public safety, and state legislative representatives to talk about issues involving our community.
Cost for breakfast is $4.
