Exercise Programs
Exercise classes are $5 per class unless otherwise stated
If you have not been active for a while, check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program.
Gentle Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga is an excellent all-around exercise class for seniors led by Kristin Higgins . It combines some of the breathing, stretching, and balance techniques of Hatha yoga with movements designed to maintain and improve circulation, flexibility, balance and strength. Students wear ordinary, comfortable clothes and shoes.
Class meets every Wednesday and Friday at 9 am.
Tai Chi
An ancient Chinese Martial Art with instructor Helen Morin. A gentle, rhythmic, fluid movement that will help improve your internal energy and blood circulation and at the same time strengthen your muscles and bones, open up your gates and joints so you can move better to improve your balance, increase your stamina and build up your self-confidence.
Tai Chi also teaches you how to breathe well, release tension, and stay centered and focused. But remember, “80% of success is showing up”!
Class meets every Wednesday at 11:15 am.
Strength & Balance Training
Led by Caitlin Borsini, you will learn balance coordination, trip and fall prevention, posture control, muscle strengthening with bands and pain management through exercise correction. The class is recommended for people with all stages of Parkinson’s Disease.
Come in any Wednesday and Friday at 1 pm and check it out!!
Zumba Gold
Zumba is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. Many types of dance and music are featured.
Zumba Gold is designed to be approachable by all populations, regardless of fitness level. The biggest difference is that Zumba Gold is done at a much lower intensity. It's just as much fun, just not as fast!
Classes meet every Monday and Friday at 11 am, and Wednesdays at 10 am.
