Main Street Trick o' Treat

flyer2023Main Street Trick or Treat started in 2019 when town staff held the inaugural event. In 2021, the Westborough Economic Development Committee (EDC) invited businesses to join with Westborough Recreation and other municipal offices to host an annual "Main Street Trick o' Treat" event a week or so prior to Halloween.

As you may know, the "Main Street Trick o' Treat" event is a downtown wide trick-or-treat, which began with municipal offices, including the Westborough Town Hall, the Forbes Forbes Building, the Fire Station, and Westborough Public Library, handing out candy to children and families to celebrate Halloween. In 2021, the EDC helped expand the event to include downtown businesses, with the goal of creating opportunities for downtown businesses to get involved with the community and for them to get more visibility with potential customers. By many accounts, this event has been a big success, drawing 500+ trick-or-treaters and creating new business opportunities for downtown establishments. In 2022, the event was expanded again to include businesses further down East Main Street, Milk Street, and South Street.

In 2023 the event was held on October 24th, from 4 to 7 pm in downtown Westborough, MA. Over 40 downtown businesses opening their doors to trick-or-treaters. Interested families were invited to any of the "haunted stops" on that date and time for a night of trick-or-treating fun! In the following you'll find an Event Map (PDF), listing all the participating businesses and municipal offices., and a List of Participating Businesses (PDF).

Thank you to all the participating businesses that help make this event possible! We are privileged to reside in a community where businesses desire to get involved with the community, and we hope that Westborough trick-or-treaters (or their families) consider supporting local businesses first whenever they make their next purchase.
